
Pakistan, UAE Set to Hold Joint Ministerial Session After 13 Years
Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reviewed preparations for the 12th Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) session scheduled in Abu Dhabi this October — the first in 13 years.
A high-level meeting discussed strengthening bilateral ties, attracting UAE investments, and enhancing cooperation in trade, energy, tourism, and technology. The UAE is Pakistan’s third-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade crossing $10.9 billion in 2023–24 and remittances reaching $6.7 billion.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently, discussing regional peace and economic partnerships. Both sides agreed to boost economic and diplomatic engagements in the coming months.
