Pakistani Investors Have Vast Business Opportunities in Rwanda, Says High CommissionerISLAMABAD: Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Harerimana Fatou, visited the FPCCI President Secretariat in Islamabad, where she held a meeting with FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, trade, investment, and industrial collaboration between the two countries.The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing business-to-business relations and agreed to take practical steps to promote greater engagement between the private sectors of Pakistan and Rwanda.Speaking on the occasion, Atif Ikram Sheikh said Rwanda is an important partner under Pakistan’s “Look Africa” policy and stressed that stronger private-sector connectivity is essential for expanding trade with African nations.He praised Rwanda’s impressive economic progress in recent years, attributing it to the country’s effective leadership and sound economic policies.”Direct access to African markets is becoming increasingly important for Pakistani exporters, and Rwanda has the potential to serve as a strategic gateway for Pakistan’s exports to the African continent,” Sheikh said.He added that Pakistan and Rwanda would work together to facilitate investment, improve the ease of doing business, and create better opportunities for their respective business communities.Sheikh also highlighted significant potential for bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, information technology (IT), and engineering.During the meeting, High Commissioner Harerimana Fatou invited Pakistani businessesء to explore investment opportunities in Rwanda. She briefed the participants on Rwanda’s investor-friendly policies, business incentives, and conducive investment climate, while also outlining ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral trade.The High Commissioner said Rwanda remains committed to providing an enabling environment for Pakistani investors and expressed confidence that enhanced economic cooperation between Pakistan and Rwanda would contribute not only to the prosperity of the two countries but also to broader regional economic growth.
