Principal Information Officer (PIO) Raeesa Adil visited the office of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) today and held a meeting with representatives of the newspaper industry.The meeting focused on matters concerning the print media, including government advertisements, outstanding payments, advertising policies and other issues being faced by newspapers.The APNS representatives briefed the PIO on the challenges confronting the newspaper industry and put forward proposals for improving coordination between the government and the print media.Ms. Raeesa Adil assured the APNS representatives of her cooperation and said that issues concerning the newspaper industry would be taken up with the relevant authorities.The visit was part of the PIO’s ongoing engagement with media organisations. Earlier, she had also visited the National Press Club, where she discussed professional issues faced by journalists and announced initiatives relating to journalists’ training and capacity building.
