Lahore (.) General Secretary PPP Central Punjab Hassan Murtaza has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of life and property during the recent rains in Punjab, saying that there was great sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives due to rains and floods, on which I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the killed and injured. He said that the recent rains, floods, and climatic disasters are not a sudden disaster, there is no denial of natural disasters, but the lack of capacity and resources to deal with them is the incompetence of the government. Hassan Murtaza asked whether the job of the government and administration is only to issue alerts? The entire Punjab is submerged and it is predicted every year, but the government’s preparedness is zero. If the relevant authorities had taken timely measures, any loss of life and property could have been avoided. Hassan Murtaza further said that due to the poor drainage system of big cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Pindi, Islamabad, the worst urban areas were affected by the floods. The situation of rains and floods across Punjab It is worrying that the government should take emergency measures and make it possible to compensate for the losses caused to farmers as a result of the rains, immediately provide shelter to the residents of collapsed houses, and provide the best possible treatment facilities to the injured.
