He said that the recent rains, floods, and climatic disasters are not a sudden disaster, there is no denial of natural disasters, but the lack of capacity and resources to deal with them is the incompetence of the government. The entire Punjab is submerged and it is predicted every year, but the government’s preparedness is zero. If the relevant authorities had taken timely measures, any loss of life and property could have been avoided. Hassan Murtaza further said that due to the poor drainage system of big cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Pindi, Islamabad, the worst urban areas were affected by the floods.
