
Organized in collaboration with the University of Okara (UO) and Zoological Society of Pakistan (ZSP), the three-day 43rd Congress of Zoology, was concluded with an insightful closing ceremony, presided by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Sajjad Mubin.
The event brought together scholars, academicians and researchers from all over the world. More than 200 researchers presented their studies on various aspects of Zoology and its related disciplines.
The President of the ZSP, Prof DR A R Shakoori, the General Secretary, Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan, the UO’s Pro VC, Prof Dr Muhammad Wajid, the University of the Punjab’s VC, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, the former VC of the Baba Guru Nanak University, Prof Dr Muhammad Afzal and the VC of the University of Skardu, Prof Dr Naeem Tariq, were among the keynote speakers who enlightened the young researchers on the latest and innovative trends of scientific inquiry into the zoological sciences.
Prof Mubin, in his addressed, hoped that the conference would enable the participants to produce innovative ideas and immense research that, he believed, could enlighten the paths of future scholars. He asserted, “Such conferences provide an ideal environment for connectivity, partnerships and collaborations to the researchers.”
Prof Shakoori applauded the participants for travelling from across the country to attend the conference amid harsh weather. He explained the history and key achievements of the ZSP.
Prof Shah advised the students to work hard with determination and confidence in order to accomplish their goals.
During the moot, medals, shields, certificates financial incentives were distributed among the stand-out researchers.
