
Lahore: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has issued final reminder notices to several public sector organizations and departments for the payment of long-outstanding gas dues, warning of legal and administrative action if payments aren’t cleared.
As of April 2025, total outstanding dues exceed Rs. 3.7136 billion. Major defaulters include hospitals, owing Rs. 1.4125 billion, with Punjab government hospitals alone responsible for Rs. 1.1228 billion. Police departments owe Rs. 499.7 million, while jails in Punjab and KPK collectively owe Rs. 607.5 million.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) owes Rs. 251.2 million, and various Public Works Departments (PWD) owe a total of Rs. 141.6 million. Educational institutions and other government offices collectively owe over Rs. 800 million.
Notable individual defaulters include Commandant Police Training College Sihala (Rs. 146.37 million), General Hospital Lahore (Rs. 97.74 million), and PIMS Islamabad (Rs. 61.4 million).
SNGPL has urged prompt settlement of these dues to avoid service disconnections and legal action.
