ISLAMABAD : Ambassador Moin ul Haque has officially assumed charge as the Director General of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI). He took over the position from Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, who completed his tenure.Ambassador Moin ul Haque brings vast experience in diplomacy and high-level decision-making. Over a career spanning nearly 35 years in the Foreign Service of Pakistan, he has held key responsibilities both at the headquarters and in various diplomatic missions abroad. His last assignment was as Pakistan’s Ambassador to China (2020–2023). Prior to that, he served as Ambassador to France (2016–2020) and Consul General in Vancouver (2007–2010). He has also served as Additional Secretary (Administration), Chief of Protocol, Director General (Europe), and Director (Foreign Secretary’s Office). Earlier in his diplomatic career, he served in Pakistan’s embassies in Brussels, Colombo, and Ankara, as well as a Counselor at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New Yor
