
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the appointment of two new ambassadors to key diplomatic posts — the United Arab Emirates and Russia.
According to official sources, the approval was granted on a summary sent by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The summary recommended the posting of senior diplomats to strategically important missions abroad.
As per the decision:
- Shafqat Ali Khan has been appointed as Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
- Faisal Niaz Tirmizi has been appointed as Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation.
The appointments are part of the government’s efforts to strengthen diplomatic engagement with key global partners. Both diplomats are seasoned officers of the Foreign Service with extensive international experience.
