The United States on Monday launched the Innovation Hive at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) in Islamabad, aimed at supporting Pakistani entrepreneurs by connecting them with American expertise, technology, networks and markets. U.S. Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires Natalie Baker, who inaugurated the facility, said the Innovation Hive would provide Pakistani entrepreneurs with opportunities to exchange ideas, develop relationships and connect with resources that could help turn innovative ideas into successful businesses.She highlighted the United States\u2019 commitment to supporting Pakistan\u2019s entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem, saying greater connections between entrepreneurs, mentors, companies and networks could create new opportunities for Pakistani businesses.Baker said the initiative reflected the importance the United States places on entrepreneurship, innovation and people-to-people connections between Pakistan and the United States.Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, who also attended the ceremony, said Pakistan\u2019s technology exports had been growing by around 20 to 21 percent annually, with more than half of the country\u2019s technology exports going to the United States. She said the growing presence of international technology companies in Pakistan demonstrated confidence in the country\u2019s market, workforce and young population.The minister said initiatives such as Innovation Hive could help bridge gaps in support for entrepreneurs by providing mentorship, market access and opportunities to build partnerships throughout their entrepreneurial journey.The Innovation Hive, located at USEFP in Islamabad, is designed to serve emerging entrepreneurs and connect Pakistan\u2019s startup community with American experts, companies and networks.
