Federal Minister Syed Ahmed Imran Shah Leads Strategic Meeting on International Partnerships for Poverty Reduction<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ISLAMABAD, June 17, 2025: Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, chaired a strategic meeting at the Ministry today with MNA Minister Romina Khurshid Alam, Chairman Standing Committee on IT & Telecom Ameen Ul Haque, and former member NCRC Dr. Rubina Feroze Bhatti. The discussion focused on leveraging global alliances, digital infrastructure, and skills-based approaches to fight poverty in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Federal Minister Imran Shah emphasized that poverty alleviation efforts must be rooted in international collaboration, transparent data exchange, and innovative social protection models. He noted that the Ministry is committed to sharing verified program data and outcomes with reputable international entities working for poverty alleviation and social development in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also proposed that through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model we can equip brick kiln workers with exportable skills, allowing them access to international labor markets such as South Korea, and facilitating economic rehabilitation of bonded labor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting examples of global innovation, SAPM Romina Khurshid Alam underscored the need to localize successful international models. She cited Rwanda\u2019s example, where poverty was reduced by 70\u201380% through digital economic reforms and data-driven strategies. She also referred to China\u2019s Global Development Initiative (GDI), noting its eight foundational pillars\u2014especially corporate social safety measures\u2014as guiding tools for Pakistan\u2019s inclusive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chairman standing committee on IT & Telecom Mr. Ameen Ul Haque pledged full support from his Ministry in enabling data-sharing frameworks, digital coordination, and the expansion of digital skills training. He stressed that integrated IT solutions can help bridge gaps in service delivery and enhance poverty alleviation systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
